This year marks the 23rd anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. We are remembering and honoring people who lost their lives or were injured in the tragic terrorist attacks on American soil.

The song’s lyrics center on reactions to the September 11 attacks in the United States, written in the form of questions. Alan Jackson wanted to write a song capturing the emotions surrounding the attacks, but found it difficult to do so.

The music video is about a firefighter and family man and references the events of September 11, 2001. “My List,” was a tender tribute to the New York City firefighters who put it all on the line that fateful day.
MARY CHAPIN CARPENTER: GRAND CENTRAL STATION

This song is inspired by an interview with an iron worker who worked at Ground Zero that Carpenter watched. It is told from the point of view of the iron worker.
