If Dierks Bentley’s new song She Hates Me sounds a little familiar, it’s because a) Rock band Puddle Of Mudd had a song by the same name in 2002, and b) Dierks channels the aforementioned rock song in his new tune.
Dierks sat down with Rolling Stone to talk about the new song where it started as a joke between him and the band before the song started catching on in the studio, and then kids and friends were giving him more encouragement as they heard the song. Dierks also went on to say “I love any opportunity to laugh at myself- especially my younger self, and ‘She Hates Me’ definitely provides that”.
